Info: This Interlude is a lyrical addition to the bassoon repertoire. The piece is well written for the bassoon and can easily be performed by students. The painting on the cover page is chosen by the composer, it is named: "Melankoli" and is painted by the composer's friend Roar Kjærnstad (1975). "Melancholy" is in other words a word which describe this Interlude well. The painting is used after permission from the painter.

Info: This Pavane is originally composed for oboe d'armore and piano, and is one of the movements in the "Miniatyre Suite" Op. 108. After request from the editor the piece was written for bassoon and piano (Op. 108b) by the composer, which got premiered by the editor and the composer not long time after. Now some years later the same Pavane has been written for bassoon and string orchestra by the composer (Op. 108c), after request from the editor. The string orchestra parts are idiomatically written, and is suitable even for amateurs or younger players. The solo bassoon part is lyrical in character. Total duration: ca. 2 minutes.

Info: A beautiful and lyrical piece for bassoon and piano accompaniment by the Spanish composer Valverde. It has 2 parts, it start with an Andante section, followed by an Allegro animato part. Tonality: B-flat major, 163 bars. Well written for the instrument, and comfortable register.
